چکیده

Despite the popularity of smartphones worldwide, persistent toxic substances (PTSs) in protective cases mobile phones (PCMPs) and their health risks via direct skin contact have been ignored. This study investigated PTSs PCMPs made China with different materials sales territory potential harm to human health. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs, 6.40 ng/g), new brominated flame retardants (NBFRs, 144 organophosphate esters (OPEs, 10.1 μg/g), short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs, 3.58 medium-chain (MCCPs, 3.17 heavy metals (HMs, 72.3 μg/g) were detected. It was found that concentrations compositions depend on material, region, use. Moreover, raw used fabricate are variable quality may include recycled plastic waste. There no standard specifications for PCMPs, properties, including specific surface area adsorption ability. The risk assessment performed by Monte Carlo simulations indicated evaluated pose general population adverse effects individual high-exposure populations. According results this work, it is suggested more stringent global selection should be established, content structural characteristics PTSs, limitations use additives production process, handling after
